Just wanted to make sure I pointed you to Alvy Ray Smith's appearance at our department's 50th anniversary celebration this Friday, at the Hunt Library, at 130p. I urge you to come to his talk at least, and to the broader schedule of events.
Alvy Ray is the co-founder of Pixar, co-developer of the first full color paint program, and co-inventor of the alpha channel (A in RGBA).
